  • Cyberbullying: The Role of Parents – An examination of what constitutes bullying/cyberbullying, how the internet can be used as a weapon, indicators parents should look for, and prevention strategies that promote collaboration between parent and child.
  • Seven Things You Don’t Know About Your Child’s/Student’s Digital Life – This workshop presents a candid view of online behaviors of children, the vulnerabilities those behaviors create, and how to intervene without violating a child’s trust.
  • Online Gaming: Tips for Protecting Children – Participants will discuss the evolution of gaming, how predators target and groom victims, how the gaming environment protects predators, as well as teaching children resilience and how to become advocates for themselves and their peers.

Claudine Wiant is the Director of Programs for the Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children. The Foundation is a non-profit, located in Delaware, and conducting child protection programming in 25 states. Claudine develops and conducts training for adults (professionals and parents/caregivers), children, and teens on how to recognize, intervene, and, most critically, prevent all forms of child abuse and exploitation. She also helps school administrators and youth serving organizations to develop child protection policies which effectively interrupt the grooming process by child predators, improve reporting competencies and prevent the institutional sexual abuse of children.

Claudine is a retired police sergeant with more than 20 years of service in law enforcement. While “on the job,” she was assigned as a family services unit detective, crime prevention, media coordinator, and served as a mediator and crisis negotiator. As a detective, Claudine investigated crimes against children, serious incidents of domestic violence, and managed the agency’s sex offender registry.

After retiring in 2012, Claudine became a Title IX Civil Rights Investigator and Clery Compliance Coordinator in higher education. In 2015, she earned her Master of Science in Administration of Justice from Wilmington University. She began volunteering for the Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children that same year and accepted a position there in 2017.

In 2019, Claudine graduated from Delaware Law School with her Juris Doctor. Claudine also volunteers as a certified Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) and school board member at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic School.
