Presented by Jenn Ford, Assistant Director of Advocacy & Education, NAMI Delaware
NAMI Delaware is the local chapter of the largest grassroots mental health nonprofit in the United States. Since 1983, their office in Wilmington has led educational, advocacy, and housing programs statewide. NAMI offers a variety of educational programs and advocacy efforts while providing safe, affordable housing to nearly 300 residents who experience severe and persistent mental illness. Their mission is to give hope to anyone impacted while working to reduce stigmas associated with chronic mental illness. Many of NAMI’s programs are free to the public, and they also offer a helpline to provide guidance and empathy during difficult times. For more information, visit namidelaware.org.
Jenn Ford joined the NAMI Delaware team in September 2017. Jenn helps to coordinate support groups, NAMI signature education programs, volunteer recruitment, planning CIT and VRT, and HelpLine. Jenn finds her role to be very rewarding as she helps those who reach out to NAMI Delaware for support and get the support, resources for themselves and their loved ones. Jenn ends each interaction with encouragement that they aren’t alone because NAMI Delaware is here!
