Adult Education: Wilmington Kitchen Collective
September 22 @ 10:40 am - 11:30 am
Sunday, September 22, 2024
10:40 – 11:30 a.m.
Rodney Chapel
Presented by the Rev. Chelsea Spyres, Pastor and Executive Director of Riverfront Ministries
A new ministry is set to begin at Westminster in October. The Wilmington Kitchen Collective is a shared kitchen space for culinary entrepreneurs to experience community and support while trying to launch their small businesses. Westminster is now a part of the Wilmington Kitchen Collective, and they will use our large kitchen next to Walton Community Hall. There may be occasions when they provide food for our Holy Toast Café.
Westminster’s goal to utilize our facility as a mission is a testament to our dedication to serving others and making a positive impact in the world. By transforming our physical space into a hub for local ministries, we are taking a significant step towards realizing our vision for a more just, compassionate, and inclusive society.
The Reverend Chelsea Spyres is a United Methodist Pastor serving as Pastor and Executive Director of Riverfront Ministries, one of PC(USA)’s New Worshipping Communities. Chelsea grew up in Newark, Delaware, and graduated with a degree in social work from the University of Delaware before moving to Detroit, Michigan, to serve as a caseworker at a non-profit working with individuals experiencing homelessness. Chelsea graduated from Wesley Seminary in Washington, DC, with a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree.
