Presented by Susie Burns, Director of Church Relations, Montreat Conference Center
Known to many simply as “Montreat,” Montreat Conference Center is a private, non-profit, national conference center with roots in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) – although, they welcome groups and individuals outside the PC(USA) as well!
Each year, over 30,000 guests journey to their small valley town, nestled in the mountains of Western North Carolina, as they seek to be inspired and transformed through engaging spiritual experiences. Of those 30,000 visitors, over 5,000 of their yearly guests are high school youth, college students, or other young adults who come to Montreat to explore their faith with peers and adult leaders. For many students, Montreat has been, and continues to be, a foundational part of their faith development. Montreat strives to be an inclusive space where each person can be heard, challenged, molded, and, most of all, seen. Youth leave the conferences knowing that their faith matters, that they are beloved children of God, and that they are part of a larger community of faith.
Susie will discuss the importance of the Montreat Youth Conference experience and answer any questions that you might have about Montreat and its programming. In addition, Susie will provide information on how to make the most of your experience, along with possible ways to engage with our youth and support them as they grow in Christ. She looks forward to understanding how Montreat might support you in ministry for years to come. Visit montreat.org for more information.
