Adult Education: Paths to Belief
March 23 @ 10:40 am - 11:30 am
Sundays, March 23 and 30, 2025
10:40 – 11:30 a.m.
Ruth Christie Room
Presented by Richmond Williams
Rich will lead a discussion on the subject of “paths to belief.” Topics for discussion include C.S. Lewis’ thoughts about the existence of God and the case for Christianity as reflected in his book, Mere Christianity. C.S. Lewis is perhaps best known for “The Chronicles of Narnia,” but has written thought-provoking books on topics of interest to those wrestling with spiritual issues. Another source of discussion topics is a column by David Brooks in the New York Times entitled, “I Found Faith in a Crowded Subway Car” (Audio version, December 24, 2024). Brooks was raised in Judaism, became agnostic, and ultimately became a Christian.
Richmond (Rich) Williams is a semi-retired attorney, who limits his practice to alternative dispute resolution. After graduating from Tatnall School, Rich went to Williams College where he earned a degree in economics. He lives with his wife, Linda, in Greenville, Delaware. They have two adult children who live with their families in Charlotte, North Carolina. He has participated in Bible studies and Christian Education most of his adult life. Rich and Linda joined Westminster in September 2023. Rich participates in Phix-It Corps, New Life Furnishings, and is a member of Westminster’s Adult Education Committee.
