Peace and Justice Education Event: Advancing Voting Rights in Delaware

January 18 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Thursday, January 18, 2024
7–8 p.m. on Zoom

With Andrew Bernstein, University of Pennsylvania Cozen Voting Rights Fellow

Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence wrote “Governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.” In the U.S., our consent is granted by means of our vote. The right to vote, and to have one’s vote accurately and fairly counted, is a fundamental right of all American citizens — one that underpins the rest of our civil liberties. Improving access to the ballot results in a more equitable and representative society for us all. Andrew will discuss the Delaware Voting Rights Coalition, its origin and history, and the work it is undertaking in 2024 to advance voting rights in Delaware. Hosted by Westminster’s Peace & Justice Work Group.
