Peace and Justice Education Event: The Arc Toward Justice (program change)
May 23 @ 6:50 pm - 8:00 pm
Thursday, May 23, 2024
6:50–8:00 p.m. on Zoom (note time change)
Live video program featuring Wesley Lowery
We had hoped to present the African American Reparation Report tonight, but our speaker is unavailable. We offer instead a livestream of a Town Hall Forum featuring Wesley Lowery, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, one of the nation’s leading reporters on race and justice, and author of American Whitelash, an NPR “Best Book of the Year.” In 2014, Lowery was sent to Ferguson, Mo., to cover the police killing of Michael Brown for the Washington Post. He then chronicled the early years of the Black Lives Matter movement and launched Fatal Force – a database of people shot and killed by the police – which won multiple awards. This livestream is expected to start promptly at 7 p.m., so please join us a few minutes early. Hosted by Westminster’s Peace & Justice Work Group.
