Peace and Justice Education Event: African American Reparation Report for the City of Wilmington, Delaware
June 27, 2024 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Thursday, June 27, 2024
7–8 p.m. on Zoom
With Coby Owens, Chair, Wilmington City Council Reparations Task Force
The call for reparation for African-Americans in acknowledgment of the enduring impact of slavery and decades of discrimination has reverberated through different media platforms over the years but has seldom been given the needed consideration. Join us as we hear highlights of the report of the Reparations Task Force presented to and approved by the Wilmington City Council on May 2, 2024. The focus of this report is addressing these historical injustices and proposing recommendations that would build a path to equity and access. Hosted by Westminster’s Peace & Justice Work Group.
