Peace and Justice Education Event: Reducing Gun Violence in Wilmington
September 5 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Thursday, September 5, 2024
7–8 p.m. on Zoom
With GVI Delaware Community Engagement Team and John Cook, Director
Evidence shows that gun violence is concentrated among a small number of people at very high risk for both victimization and violent offending. The GVI strategy is intended to help these high-risk individuals avoid involvement in the criminal justice system, keep them safe, stabilize their lives, and create accountability for violence. “We’re extremely excited to be working with Delaware and Wilmington to prevent homicide and gun violence,” said David Kennedy, Director of the National Network for Safe Communities at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Join us as we learn about the GVI approach and the results being achieved. Hosted by Westminster’s Peace & Justice Work Group.
