Peace and Justice Education Event: The Power of the Gettysburg Address

December 7, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Thursday, December 7, 2023
7–8 p.m. on Zoom

With David McBride and Martin Lessner

November 19, 2023, marked the 160th anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln’s delivery of the Gettsyburg Address, which endures as one of his most important speeches. Join us as Wilmington attorney Martin Lessner speaks about the importance of this iconic American address, delivered barely four months after the battle that marked the turning point of the Civil War. Both a eulogy for the fallen and a clarion call for the living, President Lincoln’s words resound through the decades and speak meaningfully to us today. Hosted by Westminster’s Peace & Justice Work Group.
