January 26, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Thursday, January 26
7 p.m. on Zoom
Kevin Blackwell, Senior Research Associate (Retired) US Sentencing Commission
The U.S. Sentencing Commission was created in 1984 by a bipartisan agreement, partially in response to widespread disparities in federal sentencing. Do you know what the Commission does? Come learn from a retired researcher about the data and reports, resulting guidelines and recommendations, and the impacts/trends over time. He will share more detail in his area of expertise: racial disparities. Come with your questions and learn how our voices can influence sentencing. Hosted by Westminster’s Peace & Justice Work Group.
