Peace and Justice Education Event: Poor People’s Campaign – Rising to the Challenge
February 2, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Thursday, February 2
7 p.m. on Zoom
With Madison Ashley, National liaison to Delaware
plus a representative of the Delaware Coordinating Committee
People are coming together in a movement that will shift the moral narrative, impact policies and elections at every level of government, and build lasting power for poor and impacted people. The movement demands that the 140 million poor and low-income people in our nation — from every race, creed, color, sexuality and place — are no longer ignored, dismissed or pushed to the margins of our political and social agenda. Forty-two percent of people in Delaware are poor or low-income. The Poor People’s Campaign challenges the lie of scarcity in the midst of abundance in Delaware and throughout the U.S. Come learn more about the national and Delaware goals for 2023. Hosted by Westminster’s Peace & Justice Work Group.
