Peace and Justice Education Event: Drinking Water in Delaware Public Schools – How Safe?
March 9, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Thursday, March 9
7 p.m. on Zoom
With Amy Roe, Ph.D Environmental Policy, Lead-Free Delaware Co-chair
Lead-Free Delaware is a coalition of lead poisoning prevention advocates. Since 2017, it has advocated policy measures to address the issue of childhood lead poisoning and in 2022 brought sunshine to the issue of the mishandling of sampling for lead-contaminated water in public schools. As a result, Delaware has invested state funding in lead poisoning prevention for the very first time and is currently in the process of re-sampling all consumption sources in every public school. Join us as we describe the issue and the solutions needed to prevent lead poisoning in the drinking water of public schools, protecting our children Hosted by Westminster’s Peace & Justice Work Group.
