Serve Globally

Put Your Faith into Action!

Christ commanded his followers to love God and to love our neighbors as ourselves. We believe it is essential to the life of faith to reach out with compassion to those in need, to seek justice for all people, and to work for peace in our world. Through our Church in the World Committee, we provide opportunities for serving others globally.

The following ministries are supported by Westminster. If you would like more information about any of these volunteer opportunities, please contact the church office by phone or send your request by email to Mission Info.

  • Congo

    • Westminster's sister church in Congo is Kamulumba-Ditalala Parish.

    • Westminster, in cooperation with New Castle Presbytery, is planning various projects in the Congo that include: a piggery and microfinance.

    • Westminster supports the work of Cecilé de Sweemer with Butoke (www.butoke.org) which is a locally based non-government organization supporting development work in Western Kasai province in Congo. Her work is focused on food security and nutrition, education, health and human dignity.

    • Opportunities for travel, service and relationship building are available.

  • Guatemala

Guatemala is a country filled with great beauty, hope, joy…and much need. For many years, Westminster has joined with other churches in New Castle Presbytery to faithfully respond to the widespread, critical needs of Guatemalans. Working directly with the Association of Mam Christian Women for Development in the Western Highlands and with the Protestant Center for Pastoral Studies in Central America (CEDEPCA) in Guatemala City, we are actively supporting sustainable development initiatives for indigenous women and their families.

Do you like to travel? Do you have time, energy, and resources to share? Are you looking for a personal and impactful international partnership? If so, we need you! We are assembling a dedicated Guatemala team at Westminster. Current projects include fuel-efficient stoves, latrines, family gardens, microloans, reforestation, women’s empowerment training, and prayer partnerships – there is something for everyone!
